Luley’s hohe kräftige Stimme – Robby’s kratzige, Gesangsmanier und Ken Taylor’s warme, soulige Stimme bilden einen kontrastreichen Lead & Chorgesang.Sphärische Keyboards und powervolle Gitarren sind ein Markenzeichen der Band. Das Musikmagazin “Fachblatt” schrieb über die Formation Tokyo : ”das Beste was der deutschen Rockmusikszene seit langem passiert ist.” Tokyo’s Debutalbum wurde im Musicparkstudio in Bad Homburg von der Band produziert, und platzierte sich sofort in den Charts. „Fasten your seat belts“ sowie „San“ das 3.Album, wurden im legendären Musicland im München von Nigel Jobson aufgenommen. Tokyokonzerte waren unvergessliche Liveevents, die die Band 2013 veranlassten mit dem neuen Drummer „Aaron Thier“ ( er gehört zu den besten Schlagzeugern in „Drummer’s World“), eine Reunion/Comeback in Originalbesetzung zu machen. Die Band probt und arbeitet in Robby’s Studio an neuen Songs und der Liveperformance. Es gab ein Sondergastspiel in Spielberg/Knittelfeld bzw. am Clamrockfestival mit ZZ TOP, Status Quo und Roger Chapman.Tokyo spielt am Lovely Days Festival in Wiesen mit Chicago, John Fogerty und Johnny Winter. In Deutschland ist Tokyo am Rock of Ages Festival in Seebronn/Stuttgart mit Kansas, Nazareth, Saxon, Wishbone Ash und Dr. Feelgood zu hören. Weitere Konzerte und Festivals sind in Planung. 1. Klaus Luley’s strong scorching Tenor, Robby’s raspy sensual voice and Ken Taylor’s warm soul R+B style contradicted the everyday “Lead Vocal” role. Lothar Krell’s sophisticated classically-atmospheric Keyboards with the powerful Guitar riffs of Klaus & Robby are Tokyo’s remarkable Trademarks. The Music magazine “Fachblatt” wrote: “Tokyo is the best thing to happen to the German Rock-Scene”. Tokyo’s Uirst self-produced debut Album “TOKYO”, entered the German,Swiss and Austri- an , Music-Charts in Uirst weeks of release. “FASTEN SEAT BELTS”, and third Album “SAN” were recorded at the legendary “Musi- cland “ Studios in Munich, and engineered by Nigel Jobson. A string of memorable Live reunion concerts in 2013 with new Drummer Aaron Their made a successful Tour in the original formation. The Band rehearsed and worked on new material for the “ONE WORLD” Album at Rob- by’s studio in Graz, Austria, where they produced arrangements for their Live perfor- mances at events such as the “Clamrock Festival” with ZZ Top, Status Quo, and Roger Chapman. Tokyo played the “Lovely Days” Festival with Chicago, John Fogerty and Johnny Winter, and they also played at the “Rock of Ages Festival” in Stuttgart , together with Kansas, Nazareth, Saxon and Wishbone Ash. Further concert dates are being planned.
