Description
The own roots and what they mean for the individual today - this is what was the cornerstone of Jezibaba's band philosophy! Initially, the band members shared their affinity for medieval and pagan music. At the same time, all band members are multiple talented musicians - each mastering several instruments - who play an important role in their music. In addition, the actual roots of the front woman Tanja Prill lie with the traveling people of the Roma. Their stories, their worldviews, dreams, but also fatalities in history characterize the style of the band, both in terms of lyrics and music. The band was founded in 2020 by Oliver Pietsch (aka Dr.P) and Tanja Prill.Both are responsible for the vocals. Oliver brings in the guitar sound and several other stringed instruments, while Tanja can be heard with violin and flute. Over the years the band has been reinforced by drummer Gerwin Spalink (The House of Usher), bagpipe virtuoso Bjarne and by Steffen Loos on double bass. Das ist es, was der Grundstein für die Bandphilosophie von Jezibaba war! Zunächst verband die Bandmitglieder ihre Affinität zu mittelalterlicher und Pagan Musik. Gleichzeitig sind alle Bandmitglieder Vollblutmusiker - jeder beherrscht mehrere Instrumente - die für ihre Musik eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Darüber hinaus liegen die tatsächlichen Wurzeln der Frontfrau Tanja Prill beim fahrenden Volk der Roma. Deren Geschichten, deren Weltanschauungen, Träume aber auch Verhängnisse in der Geschichte prägen, textlich und musikalisch inhaltlich den Stil der Band. Die Band wurde 2020 von Oliver Pietsch (alias Dr.P) und Tanja Prill gegründet. Beide sind für die Vocals verantwortlich. Oliver bringt den Gitarrensound und etliche weitere Saiteninstrumente mit ein, während Tanja mit Geige und Flöte zu hören ist. Im Laufe der Zeit hat die Band durch den Schlagzeuger Gerwin Spalink (The House of Usher) den Dudelsack-virtuosen Bjarne und durch Steffen Loos am Kontrabass Verstärkung bekommen.
